Quantz, J. - Sonata in D Major, Mvt. 2 (Two Violins and Cello)

This selection is the lyrical Movement 2 of the Sonata in D Major by the celebrated Baroque composer and flutist Johann Joachim Quantz (1697–1773). Quantz is highly regarded for his expressive contributions to the Galant style, bridging late Baroque complexity with classical simplicity.

While originally conceived as a trio sonata, this edition is arranged beautifully for a classic string trio setup of Two Violins and Cello. The movement highlights expressive, soaring lines between the two violin parts, supported by a grounded, foundational bass line in the cello.
