Sir Edward Elgar (1857-1934) was a well-respected English composer. His "Enigma Variations" written in 1899, was one of his first works that established him as noteworthy composer of his time. Another work that remains popular is the Pomp and Circumstance March. This piece, Chanson De Matin, was written originally for violin and piano, and later orchestrated for chamber orchestra. This arrangement is for string quartet.
