Claude Debussy (1862-1918)was a prominent French composer,known for his impressionist music. He was a very talented pianist, and wrote prolifically for that instrument. He also wrote works for chamber ensembles, an opera, and works for orchestra, including his well known "La Mer". This piece is his first of 6 'Antique Epigraphs", a series of piano (4 hands) duets that he wrote in 1914.
