Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) is thought to be one of the greatest composers of Western music. He wrote prolifically in his short life for all genres - choral operas and oratorios, chamber works for many diverse ensembles, and symphonic works and concertos for many instruments. Mozart was composing by the time he was 5, and was also a talented violinist and pianist. This piece was written around 1783 and was originally composed for 2 oboes and english horn. A lovely, easy trio for violin, viola and cello, this piece is mostly in first position, with occasional forays into third position. The rhythm and bow use are very straightforward.
