Arcangelo Corelli’s Trio Sonata No. 12, originally in G major, is the final work of his Opus 4 collection (Sonate da camera a tre), first published in Rome in 1694. This specific sonata is a celebrated example of the Baroque "chamber sonata" style. While written for two violins and a bass instrument (traditionally cello or violone with a keyboard/lute for the basso continuo), this sonata is noted for the "equalized" role of the upper parts.
